Lexus made good on its promise to deliver the new and highly anticipated coupe 2018 Lexus LC500, which will be the production car based on the LF-LC concept that was released back in 2015.
The coupe will look just as amazing as the concept and it will be outfitted with an stylish and mechanically improved cabin, while the powertrain will sport a naturally aspirated V8 coupled to the Lexus’ own 10-speed automatic.
Basically, there is nothing in the way of the LC 500 becoming a Lexu flagship coupe, much like the Porsche 911 Turbo and Mercedes S550 for their respective manufacturers, except possibly the pricing, and a limited run.
Exterior and Interior
The front of the 2018 Lexus LC500 features a dramatic 3-D mesh grille and composite headlamps including LED strips. The hood is sloping and ties in nicely with an athletic fascia accented by side vents and sweeping fenders that reach back all the way into the A-pillars.
The profile includes side skirts that create air channels for side vents sitting in front of the haunched rear fenders. The tail is equally sporty with short overhangs and a diffuser housing quad exhaust pipes, while the banked taillights match the design of the headlamps.
The cabin looks upscale with sewn leather and Alcantara on the dashboard, center stack, seats and the tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The dashboard is clean with an instrument cluster positioned right behind the wheel.
The 2+2 seating arrangement offers bolstered front seats, while it still remains a secret how accommodating are those rear seats.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of the cabin is in the driver’s seats positioned right on the center of mass by moving the front axle slightly forward and placing the engine right behind it.
This was the driver will truly get in touch with the car regardless whether it negotiates tight turns or rumbles along the highway.
Under the hood, the 2018 Lexus LC500 received a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 delivering 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. Coupled to the engine is a Lexus’ own 10-speed automatic transmission.
While the fuel ratings and the top speed are still a mystery, the acceleration is less than 4.5 seconds for the 0 to 60 mph sprint.
2018 Lexus LC500 Price and Release Date
According to the persistent rumors, we can expect to see the 2018 Lexus LC 500 coming on the market in the fall of 2016.
We are predicting the price tag will be set somewhere around $130, 000 which seems like a lot but based on the power and styling it really isn’t that much.
