The MKZ was slightly redesigned for 2016 but now for the 2018 Lincoln MKZ is carrying the feature of a flagship vehicle. The new MKZ will condense the brand’s styling direction for future vehicles. The Lincoln MKZ platform will built on Volvo S80’s legacy and it will share the platform with the new Ford Taurus. This platform structure will be competent and robust but it will certainly not be lightweight. The Lincoln’s new direction will have smoother, comfortable and softer style.
The leading designer of the new KMS is Max Wolff a former Cadillac stylist. The new design line will follow a more toned down and softer design theme while some details will obey some design cues from the Lincolns glory days. Of course the exterior will have a lot of 21st century features like blind spot detection, HID headlights with LED turn signal indicators and LED accenting lights and also LED fog lights. Also LED taillights, sun roof, collision warning and dual exhaust.
The interior of this car is able to accommodate five passengers comfortably. The interior design will follow the design of the newly redesigned exterior. The dashboard will suffer the most redesign it will have the well known bush button gearshift and a new infotainment system based on Ford’s SYNC 3 system. Also the inside of the cabin will be upholstered in full genuine leather with chrome accents to match the Chinese taste.
2018 Lincoln MKZ Redesign Engine
The 2018 Lincoln MKZ will be offered with two power trains, the first is a 2.9-Liter V-6 EcoBoost with code name Nano. It is expected that this Nano engine will produce somewhere around 300 horsepower. The second engine is the well known and proven 3.5-Liter V-6 EcoBoost and this power train will match or probably exceed the 365 horsepower of which is capable the Ford Taurus SHO’s engine. Both engine will be matched with a six-speed automatic transmission, but it is likely that Lincoln will incorporate the new nine-speed transmission developed by General Motors and Ford. The power will be transferred to the road by the front wheels and it is very likely that the 3.5-liter will have the all-wheel drive as an mandatory.

The guy’s at Lincoln will also launch the sale in the Chinese market and it will be the firs time to move from American market, this is a big step for Lincoln. The MKZ will appear in showroom’s in fourth quart of 2017 as a 2018 model. the base price will be around today’s $41,320.
