2018 Toyota Camry – Gas, Diesel and new Hybrid Version

After the excellent sales of previous models, the new 2018 Toyota Camry has been shown at the finished Detroit Car Show with new and not expected changes from the previous model together with new design and equipment. There are a couple of things which affected on this – new design on other cars in the same class since Toyota SUV vehicles have never forefront in design; a slight decrease of selling for 9.6 % in 2016 and perhaps changing of manufacturer’s politics where many new models will be shown on US market after 2016.

Exterior


This flat and surely more athletic model looks sportier thanks to the lower roof for an inch and 2 inches longer wheelbase. Thanks to some details in term of engine package and cabin size, the whole car will provide some level of warmness and comfort. Bigger wheels, together with the four-point engine mounts decrease noise and vibration while double-wishbone suspension with flat cabin provides a sense of comfort in the cabin as for driver that for passengers, too. There will be many different trim versions, and every of them will have an auto-brake system, auto-steering, automatic high-beams and couple other things. Thanks to the new position of the battery, Hybrid version will have a stable center of gravity and more stability.

Interior

As we promised, the cabin is completely made for driver’s pleasure. 2018 Toyota Camry has much more comfortable leather seats, with a soft filling, adjustable in many ways and positioned in front of a little distant steering wheel.

Just so the driver can retrieve the commands on large and lower dashboard, with a 7-inch screen near the 10-inch head-up display with buttons and applications as on every other smartphone. The modern cabin provides Wi-Fi system, new 3.0 Entune system, and JBL sound system.

Engine

The basic model of 2018 Toyota Camry has average 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with 178 horsepower and 170 pounds of speed, with bigger compression, direct injection, Variable Valve-Timing Intelligent Electric system (VVT-i E) and 8-speed automatic transmission. The same transmission will have a little bigger model, 3.5 liter V6 engine and almost the same additions and equipment. Sport version, on the other hand, is equipped with 6-speed manual transmission and finally, the hybrid has CVT transmission and the electric battery below the rear seats. Measured fuel economy says 31 mpg combined and 50-56 mpg during the driving on the highway.

2018 Toyota Camry Conclusion and Release Date

We don’t know how popular will new 2018 Toyota Camry be, but we can confirm that the manufacturer will invest $10 billion in new factories for US market. The new model can be expected at the end of 2017.
