2019 Ford Explorer

The 2019 Ford Explorer might have a long tradition behind its name, but this year’s model is on a whole new level when it comes to comfort and performance. It has advanced over the years into a practical, roomy crossover with enough space for an entire family to have a comfortable and worry-free ride.

It is not a truck in the traditional sense of the word, because its current form is more for a causal, daily use. The 2019 Ford Explorer has sportier look than we are used to see on these types of vehicles, but it is well received among the critics. With its straight lines and sharp angels it has a lot more in common with a Taurus, than a classical SUV. Main competitor is: Toyota Land Cruiser.

One of the best characteristics of the 2019 Ford Explorer is that up to seven people can fit into it, due to its spacious interior. It looks like when designed it, the Ford team thought about family use all the way, and thanks to that this is an excellent family car. It has a little less space in the third row, compared to the Ford Flex, but in the first two rows there is plenty of room for five adults to have a comfortable ride.

The Explorer is one of the safest vehicles on the market, with inflatable rear seat belts and rearview cameras and blind spot detectors. Other features that may interest our readers are leather seats with heat control, MyFord Touch, voice system and automatic headlamps.

2019 Ford Explorer Engine

When it comes to performance, the 2019 Ford Explorer is in rank with a lot sportier vehicles with its all-wheel drive feature available. Thanks to its substantial curb weight and independent suspension it provides amazing ride control and fast, well-weighted steering. The basic model is plenty quick with the 3.5 liter V6, but for someone who is feeling a little more adventurous we have front-wheel drive with an EcoBoost four, that will feel better than any V8 Explorer of the past.

2019 Ford Explorer Release date and Price

All things considered, starting price of $40,600 is expected and in our opinion pretty fair for features this family crossover has to offer. However, if you are interested in four-wheel drive with twin turbo premium V6, 3.5 liter it will cost you $12,000 more, but still worth every dollar. The 2018 Ford Explorer is already on the market, waiting for you to purchase it.

Competitors: Subaru ForesterHonda Pilot, 2020 Chevy Traverse.
