A Mercedes, without a doubt, is a prestigious car. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 made a debut during the Frankfurt Auto Show that was held last month. The model is the replacement to the W204 model. This amazing car is a coupe that offers style, luxury and high performance. It is the fourth production of the C-class series and is set to compete against models such as the 2018 Lexus RC F and the 2018 Audi RS5.
This car can be described as aggressive. It is more sleek and elegant compared to the 2015 predecessor. Its body is shorter and it incorporates all elements that make a car muscular. The taillights are slimmer and more obtruding. The boldness at the front is very conspicuous and it sets the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 apart from all others in the series. This car comes fitted with 2 doors. At the frontage, there is an A-shaped bumper that is very unique. It is complemented by the single bar grille. Additionally, the exterior has more noticeable side skirts and a rear bumper. This rear bumper is mated to an aerodynamic diffuser that also adjoins to a 4 pipe exhaust system. A small sized spoiler is also mounted at the trunk lid to enhance the sporty look. Inside the car, there is much more space than would be imagined. This is because the car, despite having 2 doors only, is wider than the previous model. The increased width is facilitated by the flared wheels that also enhance the grip on the road.
The overall inside look takes much after the C-class coupes that are fashionable and classy. High quality materials are employed to give it a sporty theme. These include wood, leather and metallic inserts. In fact, the seats are upholstered in Dinamica man-made leather and microfiber. In addition to the standard Mercedes features, the new Mercedes-AMG C63 has a 12 o’clock stripe on the steering wheel, the dynamic select switch fixed next to the touchpad, carbon look dials, and a custom instrument cluster. More features can be installed as the client wishes. Safety features that are fitted in the model include rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, air and curtain bags, collision prevention assist, lane keeping assist, among others.
Engine and Performance
Powering the latest Mercedes-AMG C63 is a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The twin-turbo will be availed in 2 options, the base option yielding 469 horsepower whereas the S model will produce 503 horsepower. The first will tolerate 479 pound feet of torque while the later will withstand 516 pound feet of torque. It takes the engine 3.9 seconds to hit the 60mph mark in the base model and 3.8 seconds in the S model. The highest speed possible is 155 and 180 mph for the base and S models respectively. In both the engine options, the power is transmitted using a 7 speed automatic gear system that features the comfort, individual, race and sport+ modes. The race mode is the one that leads to the highest rate of fuel consumption among the 4. The suspension in this car is also enhanced to ensure optimal performance.
