2020 Ford Escape is actually the same model as the current one and represents only a step before major redesigning of new Escape which will happen next year. That is why buyers should not be much interested in this version and it shows only a repetition of the old model features.
As we said, there are no many changes in the design of 2020 Ford Escape, so do not expect them in details, though. There is the same large and long vehicle, with slightly sloped roof and highly positioned and flat rear end, decorated with few curved lines, large irregularly shaped rear lights and metallic protection on the bottom. The front end has the rhomboidal gridded grille and large LED lights on the sides, with wide air intake on the bottom.
The cabin in 2020 Ford Escape remains the same comfort and wideness as on the current model, especially in front seats, which provides plenty of space for the legs. Unfortunately, we cannot say that for the second row, which is still tight and small for taller passengers. Luckily, Escape has the same great equipment as before, including a rearview camera, parking assistant, remote control, keyless entry and many more. Especially is interesting App for Escape which is able to check fuel level, where the vehicle is parked, check tire pressure, even you are not in a vehicle at that moment.
The engine in 2020 Ford Escape remains the same as on the current model, and that are three optional versions that include 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. The second one is 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque while the highest Platinum trim includes 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the well known safe and smart package, Escape is among the most safety vehicles in the class. Fuel economy is almost the same as on the current model.
2020 Ford Escape Release Date and Price
It is expected that 2020 Ford Escape will be on the market by the end of the next year, most likely in fall of 2018 for the slightly higher price than before. That means at least $26,000 for the base model with optional equipment for the price higher than $30,000. Some experts recommend buying of 2018 model instead of 2020 since this version could be more expensive with almost the same equipment and features, while the next year model should be completely redesigned. Among competitors are well-known names, like Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Cherokee, Kia Sportage, 2020 Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
