2018 Buick Regal Review and Price

The 2018 Buick Regal is here! The name Regal is not new to the U.S. it’s been around since 1973 and this 2018 Regal is a fifth generation. Buick brought this car nameplate back in 2011 and basically all they did is they took the widely successful Opel Insignia Vauxhall Insignia platform and restyled it for the American market. This sedan comes in Turbo, E Hybrid or Grand Sport trim levels.


This car’s exterior is look very aggressive and it bring back a lot of heritage design elements from Buick red national back in the 80s and 90s. The front end has a completely different front facial with the huge air intake inlets with the aluminium accents. Daytime running lights are LED along with a bi-xenon headlights, these combination make the front certainly look a lot more premium. The GS trim level have the 20-inch polisher aluminium wheels. At the rear end it got a refreshed LED taillights. The exhausts are dual integrated. Although the overall design of the Regal is certainly attractive and handsome.


The interior of the 2018 Buick Regal kinda continues the the design theme of the exterior. It is a little bit over on a little bit flashy especially with the chrome accents. The seats are not Recaro but they are very look alike with a lot of side support. The steering wheel is coated in leather. The center stack is all new versus it’s predecessor. The instrument cluster is also brand new with a big 4.2-inch LCD screen which provide you with all information. The rear seats are folding down 60/40 and the cargo space is just under 15 cu/ft.

2018 Buick Regal Engine

Under the hood of the 2018 Buick Regal base model is a 2.4-Liter four-cylinder that put out 182 horsepower. Some will expect to find a V6 or V8 may be sorely dissapointed however this engines are pretty good. The second engine is a 2.0-Liter four-cylinder that put out 259 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque. Acceleration from 0-60 is below seven seconds. Both engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA gas mileage is 19 mpg in the City/27 mpg on the Highway. It is also coming in front wheel drive and all wheel drive.

2018 Buick Regal Price and Release Date

The price of the new 2018 Buick Regal base trim is starting at $27,990 and the top of the line GS trim level with all extras costs $40,735. Main competitors are: BMW 3-series, BMW 4-series Gran Coupe, Mercedes-Benz C-class, Jaguar XE, Audi A4, Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. New model is expected to hit the market at the end of 2017.
