The 2016 L.A. Auto Show revealed us the concept of Toyota’s CH-R that will hit the market as a 2018 model. For those who are not familiar with the model, the CH-R stands for Coupe High-Rider. This futuristic coupe-like crossover will be offered in two trims, so the choice is yours.

The 2018 Toyota CH-R will definitely offer a touch of powerful, modern and youthful design. Some would say that it resembles the Hyundai Veloster in a way. However, we assure you that it certainly has a unique and futuristic styling, with lots of distinctive features you have hardly seen before. Also, it has been said that it resembles the current RAV4 up front. Be that as it may, the 2018 Toyota CH-R will probably be one of the most aggressive and sportiest Toyotas in the market. In the front part, you will notice a massive and unusual front bumper and large headlights. The CH-R will be standing on 18-inch sporty alloy wheels. In the back, you can expect larger taillights that will be using the LED technology. As we have already mentioned, this model will be available in two trims – XLE and XLE Premium, so the equipment will depend on the trim you choose.

The interior of the 2018 Toyota CH-R has to follow the innovative and next-generation design of the exterior. Inside this muscular crossover, you will find a simple, elegant and modern dashboard. It will also provide an instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch screen. When it comes to the latest high-tech options, you will also get a 7.0-inch infotainment system and HVAC controls. Hopefully, many of the connectivity and entertainment options, dual-zone climate control, navigation system and other features will be found inside the new CH-R. There is also a three-spoke steering-wheel that will be wrapped in leather. The only possible problem might be expected in the back seats when you have to accommodate three adult passengers for longer journeys, but two will perfectly fit.

The 2018 Toyota CH-R will be geared with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which will be able to make 144 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. Such an engine will be mated to CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). It means that the power will be sent to the front wheels only. The 2018 CH-R will also be well-equipped with the safety and driver assist options and it does not only include 10 airbags, seatbelts, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. The CH-R will actually have its Toyota Safety Sense P, which means automatic emergency braking, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, forward collision warning and others.
