Despite relatively recent redesign, GM already works on an updated version of the Buick’s flagship sedan. The full-size car has been redesigned two years ago. However, the testing model with a camouflage has been spotted on the road, which clearly indicates some big changes. Considering the huge sales decrease of sedans in past few years, this quick mid-cycle refresh seems logical. The company will offer a new styling, which will make the 2020 Lacrosse more attractive to a wider range of potential buyers. On the other side, we don’t expect to see any mechanical change.
Just like its case with most facelifts, this one will also be mostly about visual upgrades. While base design characteristics are about to remain the same, the 2020 Buick Lacrosse will get a new look. By looking on the test model and its camouflaged areas, it is easy to conclude where the biggest changes will come. Of course, the front end is on the focus. We are about to see an implementation of the brand’s newest design language, which with the new Regal last year. Basically, this would mean a slightly sharper approach to the grille design and headlights. Also, both bumpers will come with slight reshapings. Considering that taillights and tailgate are also under a camouflage, we could expect some changes here as well. Other than that, the 2020 Buick Lacrosse should continue in the same way.
Unlike exterior design, the interior of 2020 Buick Lacrosse will most likely come without changes. We are about to see a familiar cabin layout, characterized by plenty of space and hi-quality materials. It is a real family-oriented sedan. Despite the fact that Nissan Maxima offers better driving characteristics, this one is more spacious and comfortable. It is also far more comfortable than its corporal sibling 2020 Chevy Impala, despite slightly smaller cargo space. You can also count on plenty of tech features, including an 8-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration already in base models.
The current model comes with two engines in the offer and we don’t expect bigger changes in the future. The 2020 Buick Lacrosse will continue in the same way. There is a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. If you are for some more economic variant, there is a recently-introduced mild hybrid system that is based on a familiar 2.5-liter gasoline engine. Total output goes around 195 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. While the total amount of power might seem mediocre for some, a great fuel economy is an obvious reason why you should go for it. You can count on 25 mph in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
2020 Buick Lacrosse Release Date and Price
The 2020 Buick Lacrosse will probably come sometime in the second half of next year. We don’t expect changes in price, so base models should go around $30,000.
