Considering the recent redesign, most of us would expect no bigger changes for the next year. Still, the company will definitely have to offer something new for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The new generation of the famous truck came just recently, with significant improvements. The new model is more capable, more efficient and looks better as well. For the next year, we expect to see few new versions in the offer, which will make 2020 Silverado even more competitive. Also, the new HD series will finally come.
The recent redesign has brought a lot of changes. With the new architecture, this truck is now much lighter and more efficient. The new platform utilizes hi-grade aluminum HSS, as well as some other lightweight materials, so the new model is for about 300 pounds lighter. There is also a brand-new styling, adapted to the Chevy’s latest design language. Considering all these changes, it would be hard to expect some spectacular novelties for the second year of production. However, Chevy is here to confuse us with a new performance version called 2020 Reaper. This model will come with significant improvements in all aspects, in order to compete new 2020 Raptor. It will come with numerous mechanical upgrades, as well as with an upgraded styling and interior. Finally, expect to see a new generation of HD models, which will come with a pretty distinctive styling.
On the inside, 2020 Chevrolet Silverado shouldn’t receive too many changes, at least when it comes to standard models. We will see the same cabin layout, characterized by hi-quality materials and plenty of space. For the next year, we could only see few tweaks in terms of new standard features for each trim level. Rest of the cabin will remain unchanged. On the other side, the new performance version should get a bunch of new equipment, as well as numerous new details.
Under the hood, we will see familiar units. The base model will feature a recently-introduced 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit, characterized by amazing efficiency. Despite small displacement and only four cylinders, this one delivers around 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Compared to its key competitor, F-150 which relies primarily on V6 engines, this one has a big gap in terms of displacement. Interestingly, there are no six-cylinder units in the offer, at least when it comes to gasoline engines. The next in the line is a familiar 5.3-liter small-block V8 unit, which is good for about 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The other V8 unit is a 6.2-liter engine that delivers around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is an all-new inline-six diesel from Isuzu. It features a displacement of 3.0 liters and a max output of 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado Release Date and Price
We expect 2020 Chevrolet Silverado’s arrival in usual time, which would mean late in the next year. When it comes to price, base models should go around $29,000.
