2020 Dodge Charger Redesign

2020 Dodge Charger Redesign

The old and outdated large sedan is finally about to come completely new, as redesign 2020 Dodge Charger. Those are the latest reports about the famous nameplate. While original versions were famous coupe performance cars, last two generations are more comfort-oriented, though hi-output engines have been kept. However, the modern market requires constant updates. If we consider that the current model features some design elements from almost 20 years ago, it becomes clear that this redesign is an urgent thing. Latest reports suggest that the new 2020 Charger could come already next year.

2020 Dodge Charger Redesign review

As we’ve already mentioned, the current model is pretty outdated. One of the biggest drawbacks is its antic platform, which makes this car way too heavy for some more serious competing on the market. Latest reports suggest the new 2020 Dodge Charger is about to get a brand-new architecture, finally. The starting point will be Giorgio platform, which underprints the new Alfa Romeo Giulia. Of course, we will see a lot of stretching, as well as further modifications that should make it capable of accommodating large V8 units. The new model should be at least 500 pounds lighter, which seems like a significant improvement. Finally, expect to see a completely new styling as well. Still, it is hard to tell something more precise at the moment, considering the fact that Dodge still has to establish its new design language first.

This is another aspect where the current model lacks compared to the competition. The new 2020 Dodge Charger should come with significant improvements in terms of materials quality. We also expect to see a little bit more practicality. A bigger trunk seems necessary, considering that other models in class, like Chevy Impala, are way better in this aspect. In terms of tech features, the current version seems pretty decent. Still, we would like to see more standard safety systems, which will move this sedan closer to class leaders like Toyota Avalon and Kia Cadenza.

Unlike interior and exterior design, this is the aspect where we don’t expect significant changes. This model has roots in the iconic sports car. So, we expect from 2020 Dodge Charger redesign to continue with hi-output engines. Even the base model comes with a V6 engine that has much more power compared to most competitors. It is a familiar 3.6-liter unit, which delivers around 300 horsepower. However, V8 engines are the thing that makes this car distinctive. There are three of them in the offer. The first one is a 5.7-liter unit with 370 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The next one is a huge 6.4-liter unit, which delivers around 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. Finally, you can go for a monstrous 6.2-liter Hellcat engine, which delivers magnificent 707 horsepower.
