In today’s auto industry, many manufacturers follow the trend of reviving old nameplates. Dodge will do the same. There are several old nameplates that will be in use again. One of them was in use for an interesting coupe/utility vehicle Rampage. The new model is about to come as 2020 Dodge Rampage. Still, it looks like it won’t have many things in common with the original. This should be some kind of a special version of the new Ram 1500, which will be characterized by a little bit sportier approach and better overall performances.
As we’ve just mentioned, the new 2020 Dodge Rampage will be heavily based on the new Ram 1500. This truck came completely new just recently, with various kinds of changes. There is a new architecture, which utilizes a lot of lightweight materials. This has a great impact on overall fuel economy, which is much better if we compare it to the previous model. In terms of styling, the new 2020 Dodge Rampage should keep similar proportions as Ram 1500. On the other side, expect to see a much sportier approach. The first thing that you’ll notice on this version will be a much lower ground clearance. This model should be road-focused, with a lower center of gravity. Such design will provide much better cornering and overall driving characteristics, which should be the key characteristics of the new model.
Once again, expect a lot of similarities with the Ram 1500. So, we should see pretty much the same cabin layout, highlighted by a new dashboard design. Of course, the 2020 Dodge Rampage will come with a lot of unique details, including Dodge-badged steering wheel and a unique list of standard features. This model should compete with hi-grade trims of rival models Ford F-150 and 2020 Chevy Silverado. Expect to see a lot of gadgetry and other tech features already in base models. This refers to advanced safety systems as well, on things like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist etc.
If we can rely on latest reports, the new 2020 Dodge Rampage will come exclusively with a V8 engine. It will be the same unit that powers higher trims of the new Ram 1500. It is a large 5.7-liter Hemi engine, characterized by plenty of power. So, a max output goes around 395 horsepower, which should provide great overall performances. On the other side, don’t expect some spectacular fuel economy. When it comes to the transmission, it will come with a company’s new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Dodge Rampage Release Date and Price
We expect to see the new 2020 Dodge Rampage sometime in the second half of next year. Starting price will probably go somewhere between $35,000 and $40,000.
