2020 Ford Kuga

Also known as the Escape in North America, the 2020 Ford Kuga is about to come completely new, according to the latest reports. Designed and produced in Europe, this compact crossover is definitely one of the company’s most popular models in that part of the world. It originally came in 2008 and we have already seen two generations of it. The current model is getting closer to the end of the production cycle and should be replaced soon. We will see a new platform, which is about to bring many benefits to different aspects. Expect to see 2020 Ford Kuga sometime in the next year.

The current model will be replaced soon, according to the latest reports. Although we didn’t get an official confirmation yet, this seems very logical, considering that the all-new Focus just came. The two models have a shared a platform so far and we have no doubt that future models will be doing the same. The new Focus has come already and we expect 2020 Ford Kuga to adopt all those new technologies and design solutions. Of course, the core will be a new architecture, which brings all those improvements in terms of driving dynamics, comfort, fuel economy etc. Also, count on a new styling, which will stick to Ford’s newest design language, which doesn’t bring any revolutionary change. All the changes are subtle and there is no space for experiments.

The cabin will also come completely new. The new platform brings few additional inches in terms of wheelbase and that should be beneficial in terms of legroom for sure. Besides more space, the new 2020 Ford Kuga will come with a completely new cabin layout too. Once again, expect to see a lot of similarities with the new Focus. The dashboard should feature pretty much the same design, with similar button configuration and instrument cluster. Also, expect to see a lot of new tech features, including Ford’s newest infotainment system, smartphone navigation, and other gadgetry.

Engines

A wide offer of engines has always been the model’s strong point. We have no doubt that the 2020 Ford Kuga will continue in the same way. Expect to see both gasoline and diesel units in the offer. Base models will feature Ford’s new 1.0-liter EcoBoost. It comes in three output variants, with either 80, 100 and 125 horsepower. For those who would prefer something quicker, a great choice would be a 1.5-liter engine, which delivers either 150 or 180 horsepower, depending on the version. On the other side, three diesel options should satisfy all those fuel economy minded drivers. There is a 1.5-liter EcoBlue with either 95 or 120 horsepower, as well as a large 2.0-liter unit with 150 hp.
