Along with its sibling, Chevy Silverado, this full-size truck came completely new just recently. However, this doesn’t mean we are not going to see novelties for the second year of production. Moreover, there is much more work to do for GMC engineers. While the recently launched light-duty models will probably continue in the same way, the all-new heavy-duty series will bring a lot of new design solutions. These larger versions of 2020 GMC Sierra will come with several upgrades, not only on chassis but in terms of styling as well.
While the standard model came just recently with brand-new styling, heavy-duty series are yet to come. The great thing about these upcoming models is that we are about to see not only mechanical upgrades but new styling as well. Compared to light-duty 2020 GMC Sierra, these will come with larger and slightly bolder treatment. This would mean a more massive grille design, as well as new headlights. Rest of the truck should continue in a similar manner, except we are about to see bigger wheels. Of course, we will see familiar cab designs – Regular, Double and Crew. Another possibility for all 2020 GMC Sierra models is to see few novelties in terms of colors, wheels design etc. Of course, a hi-grade Denali trim will come as well, with exterior variations that will include different grille design, plenty of chrome details and much more.
On the inside, we will be seeing a familiar cabin layout that has been presented recently. Both light- and heavy-duty models will feature basically the same cabin design. Also, count on the same cabin configurations and bed sizes in the offer as well. Besides new design and better-quality materials, the new generation of this full-size truck also brings a lot of new equipment. Besides more advanced connectivity features, you can also count on things like adaptive ride control, a carbon fiber bed, a head-up display, a 360-degree view camera system and much more.
Under the hood, there will be a lot of options for the 2020 GMC Sierra. The recent redesign has brought a new highly-efficient 2.7-liter turbo inline-four, which is good for about 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. This engine definitely looks like a more than capable option to compete with Ford F-150’s efficient V6 units. On the other side, a 3.0-liter Duramax will rival Ram 1500’s new diesel engine. The company also continues with a large 5.3-liter V8, which delivers around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to heavy-duty series, count on a 6.0-liter V8 with around 360 horsepower, as well as on a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel unit, which delivers magnificent 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.
