2020 Honda Ridgeline

Announced as the second generation of the car, 2020 Honda Ridgeline has been shown at International Auto Show at the beginning of the year. Although the last model had been released a year before, the manufacturer decided to replace it with the old/new model, improved and redesigned, but with kept all attractive and popular features. As the last version had 6,000 units sold in the US last year, the manufacturer expects the higher popularity of this model, putting upgraded infotainment system inside, better engine and redesigning the exterior design.

2020 Honda Ridgeline review

As the last model was interesting to the wide audience, 2020 Honda Ridgeline has changed only old-fashioned details. However, it is still a classic truck, with large and long cubic truck, flat roof and slightly rounded front end. Trapezoidal mesh grille ends with curved thin lights, separated on two with a chromatic line over it. Bottom of the bumper has very interesting resolution with the plastic protection and rounded fog lights at the ends, and also plastic line above it. Slightly lower end follows the line of the wheelbase, this time longer and wider than on the last model. Thanks to the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body framework, the new model has improved outside look and much better-used wheelbase. Main exterior competitors are: Ford Ranger, Subaru Outback.

As on other new Hondas, 2020 Honda Ridgeline has comfort and modern cabin, but without some details which spoil the picture of a utility truck. It is still simple and cute cabin, with a little old fashioned flat dashboard and very simple buttons layout. There are no visible high-tech devices and fashioned screens, but manufacturer announced many improvements in term of safety and comfort in the cabin. The only thing which can be complained is maybe poor materials and not many investments in the modernity of the cabin. The manufacturer also said that we should expect a little longer cabin.

It is still not known which engine will exactly be put in 2020 Honda Ridgeline, but there are great chances that it will be the same engine as on the last model, with just some of the improved details. In that case, we should expect 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Honda’s fans will recognize the same engine as on currently Pilot, and they will not be far away from the truth. As the manufacturer hinted, they will not make the experiments in this field. The biggest engine competitor is 2020 Toyota Tundra.
