2020 Land Rover Evoque

2020 Land Rover Evoque review

Despite the fact that this small crossover came in 2011, it still looks pretty fresh and attractive. However, the company wants to keep it competitive in one of the most demanding segments in the automotive industry in these days. So, the new, second-generation model is about to come next year. The testing model has been caught on the road and we can already see some of the novelties that Land Rover has prepared for us. Of course, most of them are still kept a secret. From what we can see, the new 2020 Evoque will continue in a familiar manner, but with significant improvements in all aspects.

2020 Land Rover Evoque

Judging on the spy photos, it is easy to notice that the 2020 Land Rover Evoque is going to keep similar proportions and overall shape. On the other side, we will see a new sheet metal, this time with even more sharp lines. Of course, the area that will suffer most is the front end. We are about to see the application of the brand’s newest design language, which has been introduced recently with the brand-new Range Rover Velar. This would mean a slightly bigger grille and reshaped headlights, as well as new front fascia treatment. Besides aesthetical changes, we will see a bunch of novelties in terms of mechanics. The new 2020 Land Rover Evoque will continue to ride on a familiar LR-MS platform. Still, this architecture will receive a lot of upgrades. We are about to see new lightweight materials, which will make the new model agiler.

The interior design has always been a strong point of this crossover. Refined cabin with hi-quality materials and plenty of standard equipment are something that we can count on in the new 2020 Land Rover Evoque as well. The new model will come with the same dual-screen approach like we saw in the new Velar. This process of controls digitalization is quite popular these days and it characterizes some rival models as well. Speaking of rivals, some of the key competitors will be models like Volvo XC40, BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA etc.

The current-generation model comes with two engines in the offer. There is a familiar 2.0-liter gasoline unit, which is good for about 240 horsepower. Also, you can go for a familiar 2.2-liter diesel engine. This one is available in two output variants, with either 150 or 190 horsepower. The new 2020 Land Rover Evoque will probably carry on with same units, though some power increase is quite possible. Finally, several reports suggest a mild hybrid in the offer, as well as an advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain.
