For the fifth year of production, the current generation of the famous mid-size truck will probably come with some very nice changes. The 2020 Nissan Navara is about to come facelifted if we can trust unofficial reports. For this occasion, we could expect a bunch of visual upgrades, but some significant mechanical novelties as well. On the other side, interior design should continue in the same way, though additional standard equipment seems pretty much certain. Expect to see 2020 Navara sometime in the next year.
Considering that the segment of mid-size trucks is becoming more and more competitive, it’s no wonder that even these vehicles that are primarily designed for work are also getting visual updates between redesigns. The 2020 Nissan Navara won’t be an exception. The base design characteristics might remain unchanged, but styling will include some subtle changes for sure. Expect to see same proportions but in a fancier suit. Of course, the core of these changes will be at the front. The Japanese manufacturer will certainly do some work on parts like grille, headlights, front bumper etc. Rest of the truck will probably carry one without bigger modifications. Still, don’t exclude possible novelties in terms of colors and wheels design. Also, latest rumors suggest a performance off-road version, which would come with some chassis tweaks like off-road suspension, off-road tires, unique styling details and much more.
While exterior design is about to come with plenty of new details, the cabin of 2020 Nissan Navara will remain largely unchanged. Most likely, we won’t see bigger revisions on the dashboard, though new standard features are always welcomed. One of the highly anticipated novelties would be a touchscreen interface in the base trim level. So far, a touchscreen was reserved for more expensive versions only, so this would definitely make 2020 Navara more competitive.
One of the biggest novelty for this refresh could be a new engine. Latest reports suggest that the 2020 Nissan Navara could get a V6 diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz. Navara would finally get a hi-output engine. It has a displacement of 3.0 liters and delivers a max output of 255 horsepower and amazing 460 pound-feet of torque. The biggest rival, 2020 Toyota Hilux doesn’t have such a powerful and refined diesel engine in the offer. The strongest oil-burner from Hilux delivers around 165 hp. On the other side, it offers a huge 4.0-liter gasoline engine, which delivers 235 hp. In terms of power, this version would be comparable, but a V6 unit from Mercedes will offer superior fuel economy and far more torque. There are gasoline and diesel engines, both with a displacement of 2.5 liters and a max output of 150 hp.
2020 Nissan Navara Release date and Price
Considering all these changes, it won’t be a surprise to see 2020 Nissan Navara little bit earlier than usual. This would mean the second or third quarter of the year. In terms of price, we don’t expect bigger changes, so base models should go around $25,000.
