The new generation of the legendary truck has been presented last January at the Detroit Motor Show as a 2019-year model. Considering that the 2020 Ram 1500 will represent the second year of production, most of us wouldn’t expect any important novelty. However, those faultfinders surely didn’t miss the fact that the new generation has come in Quad and Crew Cab body styles only. We already know that the outgoing fourth-generation model is still available in this variant and it will be in the next year as well, along with new-generation models. On the other side, the new Regular Cab is under development and should be ready for 2020 Ram 1500.
Considering recent arrival, it seems pretty certain that 2020 Ram 1500 won’t feature any change in terms of exterior design. We will see the same styling, which came with plenty of novelties for this redesign. The new design language delivers a far more mature look and we can presume that the new Regular Cab will feature identical front end. On the other side, it will feature a single-row cabin, with capacity for three passengers. On the other side, this leaves the space for longer bed sizes, big as 2020 Toyota Tundras. Most likely, the base version will feature the same 6.4-inch bed as Quad Cab model. On the other side, a longer 8-inch bed should be offered as an option.
Once again, expect no bigger changes. Expect the 2020 Ram 1500 with the same cabin design, characterized by improved materials quality and new tech features. When it comes to the new single-row version, we are pretty sure that this will be a classic workhorse. In practice, this would mean only necessary standard features, without additional gadgetry, soft-touch materials and similar things. The current model comes in six trim levels in the offer -Tradesman, HFE, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited. Considering that the previous generation had almost two times more trims, we could expect some additional trim level for the 2020 Ram 1500 as well.
So far, this redesign hasn’t brought any change under the hood. The initial version of the new generation comes with two units in the offer. Base models come with a familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine. This one is good for about 305 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. On the other side, the optional 5.7-liter V8 unit delivers around 395 horses and 410 lb-ft. The 2020 Ram 1500 should include a couple of new engines in the offer. One of them should be a familiar 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine from VM Motori, which delivers 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The other one should be a mild hybrid, which should offer a superior combination of power and fuel economy. The similar is about to happen in the 2020 Ford F-150.
2020 Ram 1500 Release Date and Price
At the moment, it all indicates that the 2020 Ram 1500 should hit the market late in the next year. Considering that the new Regular Cab version is about to come, the price of base models should go down, most likely to $28,000, roughly. For the similar Price, you should look at the new 2020 Nissan Navara too.
