The fifth generation of the legendary pickup truck came earlier this year and we are now waiting to see its heavy-duty version, which will most likely come next year. Of course, the first version to come will be 2020 RAM 2500. The entry-level model of the company’s HD series will come first and it will bring a lot of novelties compared to the current model. Of course, we will see a new styling but mechanical upgrades will be more important in this case. With new design solutions, the new model should be even more capable, despite the fact that even the current model is a class-leader in many aspects. Of course, count on changes on the inside, as well as on some tweaks under the hood.
Most important changes that are about to come are those in terms of mechanics. The recent redesign of light-duty series has brought a lot of new design solutions that will find their place in the 2020 RAM 2500 as well. The new model will be lighter but also stronger. Count on plenty of improvements in terms capabilities and overall performances. Also, there is a new styling to come. Expect to see something similar to the new RAM 1500. The new design language includes new wraparound headlights, new hood design and plenty of other design solutions. This one will come with a dose of unique details, which will make it distinctive enough compared to the rest of the lineup.
A new interior layout is another novelty to come with this redesign. Just like in the base 1500 model, expect a lot of improvements in terms of materials quality, tech features and much more. Just like the previous version, we will see the 2020 RAM 2500 available in three cab designs. Those are Regular Cab, Quad Cab, and Crew Cab. Besides different cab designs, count on different bed sizes as well.
2020 RAM 2500 Engines
The current model comes with three engines in the offer. For this redesign, the company will most likely drop the base 5.7-liter V8 engine, which delivers around 385 horsepower. On the other side, a bigger 6.4-liter unit will carry on. This engine is good for about 410 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there is a famous 6.7-liter inline-six diesel engine which currently delivers 385 horsepower and more than 900 pound-feet of torque, which makes this truck the more capable compared to its closest rivals Chevy Silverado 2500 and Ford F-250 Super Duty.
2020 RAM 2500 Release Date and Price
The 2020 RAM 2500 should hit the market sometime in the next year. We expect to see its premiere on some of the major car shows first. When it comes to the price, base models should go around $35,000.
