Toyota has definitely been one of those brands that keep surprising us with their constant changes and updates. When it comes to its popular three-row SUVs of larger dimensions, the fans have been familiar with models such as Prado and Fortuner, but their cousin Kluger has also been revealed with the latest 2020 Toyota Kluger redesign.
As we have already mentioned, the 2020 Toyota Kluger is going to hit the roads as a large three-row SUV that will mostly keep its traditional features. It can also be described as a family wagon and it will be suitable for any type of off-road adventure or long family trip. So the fans shouldn’t expect any revolutionary changes in terms of look, but some minor visual updates and refreshments will still be noticed. You will be able to choose among three trim levels – GX, GXL, and Grande. The base GX model should be standing on much lighter and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. The fans will also find its LED headlamps with daytime running lights for better visibility. Those minor improvements are expected in both front and rear fascia.
The 2020 Toyota Kluger comes with a three-row seating configuration able to accommodate seven passengers. Its cabin will be spacious and comfortable, although not as much as the one inside its cousin Fortuner. Besides high-quality materials and overall comfort, Toyota will also pay attention to high-tech area and safety inside the new Kluger. Namely, when it comes to base GX trim, the driver should expect a 6.1-inch infotainment touch-screen while the mid-range GXL and top Grande will provide an optional 8.0-inch one. You can expect features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a three-zone climate control, and a six-speaker audio system, but, unfortunately, no Apple Car Play or Android Auto will be included. Most of the changes and updates will probably happen in terms of safety, so the new Kluger will include ABS, seven airbags, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, emergency braking, a rearview camera and others.
Under the hood, the 2020 Toyota Kluger comes with a powerful, but not so fuel-efficient, 3.5-liter V6. Such an engine produces the output of 292 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and both front-wheel and all-wheel drive are available.
2020 Toyota Kluger Release Date and Price
The price of the 2020 Toyota Kluger will start at $44,500 for its base GX trim which is much more affordable than some of its rivals. You can expect this model in the middle of 2019.
