One of the world’s most popular car brands is going more and more upscale and this new model just confirmes it. The all-new coupe-like sedan has been presented recently and we are now expecting it on the market. According to the latest reports, the new model will come as 2020 VW Arteon. It will come with a lot of novelties, offering plenty of new design solutions, dynamic ride and luxury.
The 2020 VW Arteon will be an all-new model. It is ready to hit the market and should arrive soon. From what we can see, it will look pretty amazing. You can notice many cues from the company’s familiar design language, but there is plenty of novelties as well. It comes in a unique coupe-like layout, though it comes with four doors and classic sedan characteristics. Basically, it is the same fastback approach that we can see on the Audi Q7. The new 2020 VW Arteon will be a mid-size sedan, featuring most similarities with the legendary Passat. Still, it will feature a longer wheelbase, but less inches in overall length, thanks to shorter overhangs. Also, it will sit much lower, with accentuated sporty character.
On the inside, the 2020 VW Arteon should be pretty generous with the legroom, at least at the front. The second-row legroom has never been a strong point of coupes, so we don’t expect miracles from this one either. On the other side, we will see a pretty luxurious approach in terms of materials quality and standard equipment. The new model will be organized in three trim levels – Base, R-Line, and Elegance. The R-Line will come with a bunch of exteriors and interior modifications, including new bumpers, steering wheels and several other details that will emphasize its sporty character. On the other side, the Elegance will be all about luxury. Still, we expect slightly lower interior quality compared to models from Audi, so the Arteon will rather compete with models like Genesis G80, Cadillac CTS, Lincoln MKZ and similar mid-size luxury cars.
We expect 2020 VW Arteon to come with two engines in the offer. Base models should feature a familiar 2.0-liter engine with around 188 horsepower. An optional engine should be a new 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, which has a max output of around 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both units should come in a pair with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In the future, we could see a plug-in hybrid in the offer as well. On the other side, diesel versions are available in Europe and some other parts of the world.
2020 VW Arteon Release Date and Price
The 2020 VW Arteon should hit the U.S. market by the end of the year. Details about the price are still unavailable, but we presume that base models will probably go around $40,000 to $45,000.
