For race car fans 2021, Dodge Challenger comes as a great addition to enormous and attractive vehicles. The manufacturer has promised dramatic changes and upgrades, although its design has not been significantly changed, pointing at the problem with the aerodynamics and acceleration.
The first Challenger that attracted our attention was 2011, showed on the SEMA show, when the first ACR version had been taught. However, this time, it will be offered with ACR option, too, which has undergone significant upgrades.
- There is a tremendous strong engine under the hood.
- The model has improvements in acceleration.
- The cabin is too simple.
- The chassis is heavy and robust for a supercar.
The manufacturer has not précised how the 2021 Dodge Challenger will look like. It is not for sure which platform they will use instead of currently used LX-model. It could be the same as on Alfa Romeo Giulia or Maserati’s amazingly soft model.
However, even with those changes, the design is not changed, so the model retains the same, robust and heavy shape. It has a full rear end, sharp corners, and a little heavy chassis. All of it does not promise smooth gliding, even with the best equipment.
There are interesting details in the cabin of the 2021 Dodge Challenger. They have announced $1 seats and a simple and not much attractive cabin. However, we do not expect impressively designed cabins when the model offers the speed and acceleration time that not every car could achieve.
With a little robust shape, 2021 Dodge Challenger still cannot compete with the faster cars in the class, so the manufacturer had to do something to improve its speed. It should resolve the engine, a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with more than 700 horsepower.
Do not forget that Hellcat Redeye has 797 horsepower, and it is the best in class. Almost a similar number manufacturer expects from Dodge SRT Demon, too, so 2020 will be an exciting year for these cars.
On the other hand, there are expectations that the new model could get something more appealing for supercar fans. If we know that Ford used the 5.2-liter V8 engine, inspired by the Voodoo in Mustang Shelby GT350, there are chances that they could consider something more economical.
This engine, though, produces 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque, so they should take the model in mind, too.
2021 Dodge Challenger Release Date and Price
It is for sure that 2021 Dodge Challenger will have an impressive group of fans, even with the price higher than $50,000. The more likely base model will have a price of $30,000.
However, this is not the end of the long history of this car. According to expectations, both Challenger and Charger should be redesigned for 2023, so great news is waiting for us in the future. Among other exciting things, the experts expect hybrid engines to offer in the future, too.
