2021 Ford Ranger as a fifth generation of the model is quite surprise since we know that the fourth generation is released only two years ago. So, the last year model has fairly not been driven on the roads yet when the manufacturer decided to offer a redesigned model. We cannot be sure of the reasons for that decision, but whatever the reason is, we should be satisfied.
However, the way how the manufacturer represents the new model to us is also mystical and not that common. As the opposite of many other manufacturers, who send their models on test driving so people could accidentally see, Ford has done a completely different thing. They already released an Australian, Asian and European version of Ranger calling it T6 model. On that way, everybody can see and even drive the model before releasing in the US.
- The model is modernized and redesigned.
- The model has a lower price than the competition.
- The engines are not very impressive.
- There are no changes in the cabin so far.
There are few significant changes in the design of 2021 Ford Ranger that changes the complete impression of the model to the buyers. We already know for changes in F-series and be able to see the new Ford F-150, so showing off the design in Ranger is not that surprisingly new. There are obvious changes in the front end, with smaller rhomboidal gridded grille in the middle and another smaller grille below it. The new shape of the front lights along with the fog lights promises attractiveness.
However, looking from the side the truck has retained the same shape as before, with double-cab size and few additions like fake air vents. The taillights are the most different from the other models made in Ford, so they are thinner but more aggressive than before. Although we expected similarities with the F-series, the new Ranger looks more like Volkswagen Amarok, becoming its much more favorable and cheaper competitor.
The manufacturer obviously cannot say anything about the cabin in 2021 Ford Ranger so far. We expect changes in design but also many improvements in the equipment. However, we should wait for official information.
It is most likely that the 2021 Ford Ranger will run on the same engine as before. It means 2.3-liter petrol unit that produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The engine should come paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission this time, but along with the old ones six-speed automatic and manual transmission as well.
For models that go on other markets, the manufacturer has decided to put slightly weaker option, so they will have 2.5-liter Ecoboost engine that produces 210 horsepower and diesel version with 270 horsepower.
2021 Ford Ranger Release Date and Price
It will be interesting to see how the 2021 Ford Ranger will look like and which novelties bring to the years to come. The price should be in the same range as before, which starts at $24,000 and ends at $35,000. It is expected that Ford will continue the partnership with Volkswagen, which could bring great adventures and novelties in the future. When it comes to the releasing date for new Ranger, everything sooner than the end of 2020 is too optimistic for now.
