2021 GMC Acadia has not been shown that much as we expected so far, but there are few interesting test driving worth of mentioning. On that time we were able to see how the new model will look like, but also the manufacturer’s goals for the future changes and updates.
Luckily, the major change is actually expected for the model that comes a year before, so there should not be significant surprises for a while after that. As we concerned, the major change will undergo front fascia and bumpers, while the rear end could be only significantly changed. Since it should be a mid-size crossover, the changes could make edges softener and more rounded.
- The model is modernized and revised.
- There are novelties in the engine.
- There is no safety system for the base model.
- The shape of the chassis is too similar to the competition.
Although people have noticed similarities with GMC Terrain and GMC Sierra, 2021 GMC Acadia comes slightly redesigned and improved. The major change should be in the design of the front end which comes with full-LED front lights this time.
There are changes in fog lights, too. The camouflage has not shown much about the changes in the front bumper, but we expected that old rhomboidal shape of it with recognizable mesh texture remains new model, too. When it comes to the rear end, the similarities with the Subaru Accents are obvious again, but in some parts, it could even be close to Honda Pilot.
The cabin in 2021 GMC Acadia has always been attractive to buyers, this time it comes even improved and modernized. Since three-row crossovers always have a problem with space, the manufacturer replaces it with comfort and elegance.
Although there are standard units like 7.0-inch touchscreen, old infotainment system, and climate control, there should be few interesting upgrades. Some of them are new infotainment system, 8.0-inch touchscreen, and a new rearview camera. Unfortunately, the upgraded safety system comes in higher trims only.
The major change that comes with 2021 GMC Acadia is a new engine. Let us remind on the last years model that had 2.5-liter four-in-line petrol engine and 3.6-liter V6 model in offer. So, buyers were able to choose between 193 horsepower and 310 horsepower of strength. However, this time they will be pleased with something between those two.
It is completely new, attractive and economical 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with impressive 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. All engines come with six-speed automatic transmission and there should not be surprises or changes in the future.
2021 GMC Acadia Release Date and Price
We are not sure in the right time when 2021 GMC Acadia should be released. It is expected that the future model will be more appealing to the younger buyers, that need a small crossover for families, but large enough for grocery bags and light tow in the trunk.
However, the price should not go significantly high so you should not be surprised by it in the future. It is expected that the price range that worth for the last year model remains for this version, too. It means that the lowest price for Acadia is around $30,000 while the highest one is around $47,000.
